FreeStyle: A hand-painted Artist Edition

This one-of-a-kind artist edition, titled "Full-Court Bloom," is a vibrant fusion of basketball and artistic expression custom-made by SURGE in collaboration with Round21. We are thrilled to be working with SURGE again, a talented South Florida artist!

STORY:

From the Artist: Inspired by the fast-paced energy and rhythmic flow of the game, the piece captures the movement and passion of basketball through dynamic floral motifs. Bold blue outlines reflect the fluidity and creativity found on the hardwood, symbolizing how the game itself is a form of art. “Drip”, my mischievous purple paint drip character, weaves playfully between the blooming flowers, adding a sense of motion and spontaneity—mirroring the quick cuts and improvisation of the game. 

Just as players find their rhythm and balance on the court, the blooming flowers represent growth, teamwork, and the beauty that emerges through dedication and play.

THE ARTIST:

Sergio J. Quinonez (aka SURGE)

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Miami, contemporary artist SURGE has taken his bold, unmistakable style from his sketchbooks to the sun-stained streets of South Florida and beyond.

His love for cartoons and brilliant colors, combined with a deep connection to his Latino heritage, has shaped his artistic identity. His vibrant illustrations feature anthropomorphized characters that are both brash and inviting, embodying a dynamic energy that reflects his passion for creativity and cultural expression.
